What is a swarm?

What is a Swarm?  A swarm is the natural division of the colony.  Once the colony has out grown their current hive location, the current queen will evacuate with at least half the worker bee population which is thousands of bees. Often, once the bees exit the current hive, they will bivouac in a tree, on a mailbox, the backend of a car, play ground equipment etc..  Remember, these bees are looking for a home not seeking to attack you!
